Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 July 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using RoamMeo ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). These Terms have a base that applies to everyone and one or more region addenda for local law. RoamMeo is launching in Australia first. By accessing or using RoamMeo you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Platform Description

RoamMeo is a real-time local discovery marketplace that connects consumers with nearby mobile and local businesses. Vendors broadcast their location and profile; consumers discover those businesses in real time.

RoamMeo is a discovery and contact platform only. We connect consumers with vendors but are not a party to any transaction, work, or service between them. We do not supply, perform, guarantee, or take responsibility for any product or service listed on or arranged through the Platform.

2. Vendor Terms

  • Vendors are independent businesses. They are not employees, contractors, or agents of RoamMeo.
  • Vendors must provide accurate business information and keep their profile, pricing, and service descriptions current. Vendors must not upload false, misleading, or deceptive content, and are solely liable for the accuracy of their listing.
  • Vendors are solely responsible for holding all licences, permits, registrations, and insurance required to operate lawfully and deliver their services, and must comply with all applicable laws.
  • Business-register verification (e.g. ABN in Australia) confirms registration only. It does not confirm the quality, safety, suitability, or trustworthiness of any vendor or their services.
  • RoamMeo does not endorse, recommend, or warrant any vendor listed on the Platform.
  • Vendors must not upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, or that infringes a third party's rights.

3. Consumer Conduct

  • Consumers use the Platform to discover businesses. Any decision to engage a vendor is made entirely at the consumer's own risk.
  • Before engaging a vendor for trades, medical, legal, financial, or other professional services, consumers should independently verify the vendor's credentials, licences, and insurance.
  • Consumers must not use the Platform to harass, threaten, defraud, or otherwise act unlawfully toward any vendor or other user.
  • Consumers and vendors may report other users for conduct that breaches these Terms. Submitting a report requires you to be signed in.

4. Account Suspension and Moderation

  • RoamMeo operates trust and moderation systems to keep the Platform safe. We may review, restrict, suspend, or permanently remove any account at our discretion where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, where our systems flag risk or abuse, or for operational reasons.
  • We do not disclose the internal mechanics of our trust, fraud, or moderation systems. Where an account is placed under review, the affected user will be notified and may submit an explanation for consideration; outcomes are at RoamMeo's discretion.

5. Subscriptions and Cancellation

  • Paid vendor tiers are billed on a recurring subscription basis via Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your vendor dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep your current tier and its features until then.
  • No pro-rata credit or refund is issued for the unused portion of the billing period in which you cancel. Subscription fees are otherwise non-refundable except as required by applicable consumer law.
  • Subscription fees are for access to Platform features only.
  • Except as required by non-excludable consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, subscription fees are non-refundable and cancellation does not entitle the vendor to a credit or refund for any unused portion of the current billing period.
  • Cancelling stops future billing from the next cycle onward; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
  • Nothing in this clause limits any right to a refund, repair, or other remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including where a service was not provided or not provided with acceptable care and skill.

6. Founding Member Offer

  • The founding member offer is available to the first 1,000 vendors to register, while spots remain. Current advertised terms are: Starter tier free for 12 months and Featured tier at a discounted founding rate for 12 months.
  • Eligibility is determined at registration and is limited to genuine, distinct businesses. Accounts created to abuse the offer (for example, multiple accounts from one operator) may be excluded or placed under review.
  • The offer applies to the subscription tiers stated at the time you claim it and does not apply retroactively to other tiers or past charges.
  • Founding-member spots are permanently consumed once claimed. If a founding subscription is later cancelled, downgraded, or refunded, the spot is not returned to the founding-member pool.
  • The founding rate applies for 12 months from the date of claim. After 12 months, the vendor's subscription reverts automatically to the then-current standard price for their tier, billed at the next renewal cycle. This is not a permanent price lock.
  • Eligibility is determined on a first-claimed basis against the 1,000-spot pool stated above; a spot is claimed the moment a vendor completes registration and selects a founding-eligible tier, not upon later payment or verification.
  • Founding pricing does not apply to subsequent tier changes, renewals after the 12-month period, or re-registration following cancellation.

7. Payments Between Users

  • RoamMeo does not process or facilitate payments between consumers and vendors. All payment arrangements are made directly between the consumer and the vendor.
  • Vendors are solely responsible for their own tax obligations, invoicing, and compliance for services they provide to consumers.

8. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Photos, descriptions, logos, and other content uploaded by vendors remain the intellectual property of those vendors.
  • By uploading content, vendors grant RoamMeo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Platform and in promotional materials.
  • RoamMeo's brand name, logo, platform design, and underlying code are the intellectual property of RoamMeo and may not be reproduced without written consent.

9. Location Data

  • Location data is collected solely to provide search and discovery results.
  • Vendor live-pin location is voluntarily shared by the vendor when they activate their pin, and may be deactivated at any time.
  • Consumer location is used only during an active search session and is not stored beyond that session, except that where a search returns no results, the search term and approximate location may be logged (unlinked to your identity) for up to 90 days to help us understand demand — see the Privacy Policy for details.
  • Location data is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • Vendor–consumer interactions: RoamMeo is not liable for personal injury, property damage, financial loss, or any other harm arising from a consumer engaging with, or receiving a service from, a vendor discovered through the Platform. Disputes between consumers and vendors are solely the responsibility of those parties.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoamMeo's total aggregate liability to any user arising out of or in connection with the Platform is limited to the total amount paid by that user to RoamMeo in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • RoamMeo is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profit, or loss of data.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law of your region (see the applicable addendum).

11. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update or replace these Terms at any time and will endeavour to notify registered users of material changes.
  • Continued use after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform.

Region Addendum — Australia

The following applies in addition to the base document for users in Australia. Where an addendum conflicts with the base document, the addendum governs for that region.

Australian Consumer Law

For users in Australia, nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or other applicable law to the extent it cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited as set out in the base Terms.

Australian vendors must comply with the Australian Consumer Law when conducting business through or off the Platform, including in relation to consumer guarantees, pricing, and misleading or deceptive conduct.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia.

Additional Region Addenda

RoamMeo is built to expand into new markets. As we launch in additional regions, a region-specific addendum for each new market will be added here — covering that region's privacy, consumer, and business-verification laws — without changing the base document above. No additional regions are active yet.
